Our school is located in the North of Portugal. Its address is Rua Professor Celestino Costa, 4750-058 Barcelinhos. It owes its name to an excellent artisan, Rosa Ramalho. She made wonderful things with clay. Although she was a very old lady, she never stopped working. After her death, her name was given to our school to pay homage to her. As the years go by, we keep on respecting her and her work.
Everyone who has worked (or still works) at this school headmasters, teachers, clerks has contributed to the development and the well being of the students.
Nowadays, our school is composed by three pavilions with many classrooms, there is a gym, a football pitch, a students room, a stationers shop and a library where you can read books or magazines, listen to music but, above all, study. There are also the Maths lab and the Science lab.

Every year, each class changes because new students are accepted whereas others fail. However, this year we all know each other and we like one another. We dislike some teachers, though.
The majority of us love to play football, some prefer to read or dance and a few prefer to do nothing at all. Everyone loves to be with his/her friends at school and outside it. The problem is that there are few green areas around school. For some, the problem is attending the lessons or the way our school is ruled.
We think that a good teacher should teach well, obviously. Some students prefer the teachers who write all the information we need to know on the board; others like teachers who understand us; and others love the teachers who are calm, friendly, nice and funny.
As this is our last year at this school, some of us have already decided what to do in the future: work in a kindergarten, being a stylist, an electromecanic technician, a football player, a psychologist, a physical education teacher, a social assistant, an engineer, an architect, etc. However, some are still wondering about their future career.
The 7th Form Class 4 (2003/ 04)
The 7th form class 4 has seventeen students, nine boys (but one of them has never come to school) and eight girls.
We are between twelve and fifteen years old, being the most students twelve years. The most of us live in Carvalhal (nine pupils), but there are also students that live in Remelhe (2 students), in Góios (2 students), in Airó (1 student), in Alvelos (1 student) and in Várzea (1 student). All of these villages belong to Barcelos.
The best student of our class is José Pedro. He suffers from an infantile paralysis and because of this he has many physical handicaps, but the other students of hiss class are very helpful and help him in his school activities.

Barcelos is located in Minho, by the river and it is a plane area. Its more or less 40 kilometres northeast away from Oporto. Our city is composed by 89 parishes and it has 379 Km2. This makes it the biggest countrys council.
Barcelos is known by its handicrafts, especially the cock which is also a national symbol.
Barcelos is also a historical city the ancient buildings, houses, churches and the castle towers.
The textile industry dominates our city.
Here we have many typical restaurants where traditional dishes are cooked such as rojões (pork) and Papas de Sarrabulho, steak on the stone, the codfish and octopus roasted directly on the fire and the roasted veal. There are also very well known wines vinhos verdes (special wines produced in Minho).
In terms of sports, Barcelos is famous for the Hockey Club of Barcelos and for the Gil Vicente Football Club.
At night we can enjoy ourselves at Vaticano, a well known disco and there are also some bars which are not so famous.
Every Thursday there is a great fair in the city centre were you can find and buy almost anything.
